The February 2010 weekend will be rather close up tight to the January one due to the nasty weather which forced cancellation of the normal January date!
February 2010 will find our new First year beginning to discover the concept of susceptibility. The fundamental concept of Miasm is introduced and new remedies begin to help the student understand the basics of their new practice. Time spent with our medical science teacher will introduce the students to an understanding of the digestive system and problems which may occur. This weekend is particularly exciting for this year group as we have a visiting specialist lecturer Andrew Chevalier – Medical Herbalist- to introduce this year to herbal tinctures and their areas of application within homeopathy.
This month the Second Year students consider the complexities of the endocrine system with the College specialist teacher in Medical Sciences. Homeopathically they will discover how to become an unprejudiced observer and along side this important understanding will discover many new remedies and case work methods and techniques.
Our Third Year group will study anxiety and depression and how patients will present with these distressing conditions. Mental health, hyperactivity and ADHA are all specialist areas addressed this weekend both homeopathically and learning which nutritional approach will enable the student to improve such conditions in their patients in the future. Sunday will also find this year group taking a careful study of main stream conventional medication – side effects and the way that patients on medication should be addressed.
Our Fourth Year students explore blood conditions – how they present and homeopathic treatment. Homeopathic remedies around these conditions are introduced and Sunday finds the group considering ear nose and throat problems, treatment and causes. Vertigo, a condition that presents so often in clinic, is studied and the weekend is interestingly interspersed with the discovery of new remedies and techniques.
