Education Policy

2007 First Year Medical SciencesIt is the policy of this College to provide the highest possible standard of Homeopathic education, incorporating extensive clinical training within a traditional Homeopathic education and to provide this in a secure and self reflective learning environment.

To this aim, Homeopathic teaching staff are active professional Homeopaths selected for their diversity of Homeopathic practice. This College seeks from its faculty members a balance of skill, expertise and proven record of established and respected independent practice and demands a clearly demonstrated responsibility for Continued Professional Development (CPD).

This College will provide a safe academically structured environment in which our students may thrive within a supported partnership of learning provider (College) and individual student.

Students will enjoy adequate learning resources, welfare and ongoing support and are given full encouragement and timetabled opportunity for self development and reflection.

Self development and reflection are an integral part of the curriculum, enabling the students not only to expand their Homeopathic knowledge but to enhance their own individual personal development and growth.

Our objective is to create a framework to encourage progressive professionalism with continual focus on the quality of the student learning experience.

Learning is defined as a process in which experience is changed into knowledge and understanding - in turn, knowledge creates a foundation and opportunity for learning.

Our aim is to enable our students to realise their full potential through an experience of professional Homeopathic education and self development. We wish to enrich the lives of our students through a programme of learning which both challenges and stimulates.

We place an emphasis upon the development of our students as independent learners - capable of taking control of their own development and enabling them to become true lifetime learners with a complete acknowledgement for responsible continued professional development (CPD).

The course we provide is structured and presented via a wide variety of teaching methods and we strive to address the varying learning needs of each student. We recognise that students are unique individuals and vary in their learning capacity and manner.

As The Homeopathic College of East Anglia is based within a popular multi disciplinary practice in the centre of Norwich, our students are introduced to a broad spectrum of Complementary Health Care. Our students have the opportunity to become aware of the benefits of a range of therapies and thus come to have an understanding of the appropriate need and manner in which to appropriately advise patients regarding other therapies.

Students are able to develop links and friendships with a range of other practitioners and experience the professional values and support of working as part of a team in a busy clinical environment.

The College adheres to the clear boundaries of the Society of Homeopaths’ Code of Ethics and Practice, working within the defined criteria of the National Occupational Standards for Homeopathic Practice and the Society of Homeopaths’ Core Criteria and Clinical Educational Guidelines.

The content and presentation of this course is under continual review and development. This College listens carefully to the feedback from students and teaching staff, implementing changes when necessary to progress the whole ethos and fabric of the College and to provide the highest quality of homeopathic education.

The provision of instruction, guidance and encouragement to develop research skills enables each individual or group of students to further their development and perception of the scope of homeopathy.

It is the policy of this College to support all college students, personnel, teaching and administration staff as fully as possible. A clear commitment to continual professional development (CPD) by all staff is essential to fully support the vision statement of this College and its Clinic.
